The Consulate General of Italy of Italy in Jerusalem inform that, in the light of the COVID-19 emergency, based on art. 103, paragraph 2-quater, of the Legislative Decree 18/2020, the so-called “Cura Italia Decree”, as converted into law with amendments with Law 27 of 24 April 2020, the effective expiration date of Italian residence permits “Permesso di Soggiorno” is extended to 31 August 2020.
Foreigners with residence permits that have expired between 31/01/2020 and 31/07/2020, but automatically extended on the basis of the relevant national legal provisions, can therefore return to Italy for their work without a re-entry visa.
