ETA-IL Program. Important information for travel to Israel from January 1, 2025

As of January 1, 2025, Italian citizens intending to travel to Israel for tourism or business purposes on a visa-free basis (short stay of up to 90 days) will need to have prior travel authorization before they can board a flight or travel to the border. The new ETA-IL system requires them to submit their entry application through https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/. The service costs 25 ILS (at the current exchange rate about 6.5 euros) and, if approved, grants a travel authorization valid for 2 years or until the expiration date of the passport, if it has a remaining validity of less than two years. The authorization must be renewed in case of change of passport, generalities, change of sex or citizenship.
We remind you that ETA-IL does not, however, provide a guarantee of admission into Israeli territory, referring all evaluation and decision to the competent Border Authorities. ETA-IL is not to be used by dual citizens holding Israeli citizenship who will enter Israel on an Israeli passport or who will enter on an Italian passport if the same Italian passport is linked to their Israeli ID number or if they exhibit their Israeli passport in addition to their Italian passport upon entry. For more information and restrictions, please consult the website of the Israel Population and Immigration Authority or contact the help desk at eta@piba.gov.il.
