Below are the rules currently in force for the re-entry into Italy for holders of residence permits that expired in the period between 31\/01\/2020 and 31\/07\/2020, but automatically extended until 31\/08\/2020 according the Legislative Decree 18\/2020.<\/p>\n
Return to Italy with direct flight (non-stop)<\/strong><\/span> Return to Italy with air connections with a stopover in another Schengen country<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n In the case of indirect flight connections to Italy through an external border of the Schengen Area or a different Member State other than Italy, the reentry in Italy will be allowed only with a re-entry visa which can be issued by the Consulate General following the authorization by the Italian Police.<\/p>\n Return to Italy with air connections with a stopover in a non-Schengen country<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In order to prevent any difficulties in transit through non-Schengen countries, the Consulate Geeneral may issue a consular note to those who request it.<\/p>\n
The rentry in Italy will be allowed without a re-entry visa and \/ or consular accompanying notes.<\/p>\n
