The Italian Diplomats’ national soccer team visits Palestine

A charity match was held in the Hebron’s stadium with a team composed of representatives from the Municipality and the TIPH – the international observers’ mission deployed in the city and of which Italy is a founding member.
The sporting event was joined by Hebron’s Acting Mayor, Nader Bitar, who also met with the Consul General, Fabio Sokolowicz, after the match. During the conversation, the Consul General, while restating Italy’s support to the two States solution, confirmed the commitment to initiatives in support of the Hebron Municipality and, more in general, of Palestinian local authorities. Afterwards, the Italian Diplomats visited Hebron’s Old City, accompanied by TIPH representatives. The day before, the Italian team had visited the ongoing restoration works at the Nativity Church in Bethlehem – a project carried out by the Italian group “Piacenti” with a significant contribution of the Italian Government – and met in Ramallah with players of the male and female National soccer teams of Palestine
