Italian TaxCode

Italian TaxCode

The individual Italian Tax Code (codice fiscale) is an instrument by which to identify persons in their relations with Italian public institutions and ministries and is issued by the Tax Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate). It can be requested from abroad both by Italian and foreigners through the Consular Office.
The tax number is issued immediately upon application through Fisconline, an on-line service of the Tax Agency.

The request and receipt of the number of the Fiscal Code is done by email, by sending a message to consolare.gerusalemme@esteri.it with the scan of the printed and signed model AA4 / 8 together with a copy of the identity document

Note: the form must necessarily include an address in the territory of the consular district of Jerusalem; it is not mandatory to indicate an address in Italy, unless the applicant has a tax address in the territory of the Republic.

IMPORTANT: it is necessary to send an individual email for each tax code request with the relative required documentation.

You can download the form to apply for the code here (editable PDF template: in order to use this feature, the form must be saved on your computer, filled in, printed on paper, and then signed; in case of problems, print directly on paper and fill in clear handwriting in pen.)

Forms in other languages (German, English, Spanish and French) are available on the Agenzia delle Entrate website, as well as complete instructions for completing the tax code request correctly.

PLEASE NOTE: the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem does not issue a plastic card with the Codice Fiscale, but only a paper certificate.

The plastic card will be sent by the Tax Agency to the Consulate within two or three months of the request, only in cases of proven necessity.
