Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, to Palestine.
Meetings with President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Riad al-Malki.
During the meetings, Mr Alfano reiterated Italy’s support to the peace process based on the two State solution.

“President receives Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation:

President Mahmoud Abbas received on Wednesday evening Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Angelino Alfano at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. President Abbas briefed the minister on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. The President stressed the Palestinian side’s commitment to the peace process based on international legitimacy resolutions, the two-state solution principle and the Arab peace initiative, for establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders. In turn, the Italian minister stressed his country’s support for the political process based on the two-state solution principle, and providing support for the Palestinian people to build their institutions”.
